Report: Chris Bosh Will Join The Houston Rockets If LeBron James Leaves Miami

Chris Bosh will join the Houston Rockets if LeBron James leaves Miami, according to Brian Windhorst and Chris Broussard of ESPN.

Here’s a quote from Windhorst’s article:

If James does choose to leave the Heat, free agent Chris Bosh will sign with theHouston Rockets, sources said. James not rushing to make a choice could put a time squeeze on Bosh. Though he hopes to remain with the Heat along with James, sources said, Bosh has secured a backup offer for four years and $88 million from the Rockets.

As many have already noted, Bosh is the ideal fit for the Rockets. He’s a stretch-four capable of knocking down 18-footers and three pointers, and he’s also an above average defender, something the Rockets lacked from their PF spot last season.

If James does decide to leave Miami, which is now expected, Bosh will sign a max or near-max deal with the Rockets that would keep him in a Rockets uniform for four seasons.

The Rockets would also likely match the offer to Chandler Parsons, and showcase a “big four”, that could compete with any team in the NBA.

Of course, Bosh could also choose Houston even if James does choose Miami, however this scenario currently seems unlikely.
