Report: Houston Rockets Could Turn Their Attention To Rajon Rondo

The Houston Rockets could turn their attention to Rajon Rondo if they strikeout on LeBron James, Carmelo AnthonyChris Bosh, and Kevin Love, according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN.

Rockets GM Daryl Morey is on a mission this summer to make his team better. If they strikeout on the three big free agents and Love, Morey will likely have to look to the trade market to make his next move.

Rajon Rondo is expected to be one of the main targets if they don’t add Love or any star via free agency. The 28-year old is due just under $13 million this season, and will be an unrestricted free agent in 2015.

The Celtics drafted Marcus Smart in this year’s draft and it appears they are ready to move on from Rondo. Since Rondo has just one season remaining and is unlikely to re-sign in Boston (similar to the Love situation in Minnesota), the Rockets could get Rondo for a cheaper price than what others might think.
