Houston Rockets Clear Frontrunners For Chris Bosh; Offer Max Contract

The Houston Rockets appear to be clear frontrunners for Chris Bosh and have offered him a max contract according to two people close to the situation.

It’s important to note that Broussard’s numbers, 4yr-$96mil, are totally off. As David Weiner (Clutchfans) noted, Bosh’s max is around 4-years, $88 million since the contract he just finished was less than Anthony’s. Broussard was using Anthony’s max in his tweet.

At this point in free agency, many expect Bosh to end up in Houston, however, we certainly have a long way to go. Bosh is waiting on LeBron James‘ decision before deciding on his future, and it’s possible he re-ups in Miami if they all decide to stay. If James decides to leave Miami, expect Bosh in Houston. That is, of course, if Anthony also decides not to come to Houston, a decision that is expected any day now.

As we have the first six days of free agency, we continue to wait first on James and Anthony before the rest of the dominoes fall.

For now, it seems likely the Rockets end up with one star. Who?

At this point, I’d prefer Bosh. I’m still pissed at him for the 2010 debacle but he has a chance to redeem himself with Rockets fans! Plus if he comes to Houston now, he’s got championship experience and has changed his game quite a bit.

I think the Rockets destroy all other teams if DM adds Bosh to last seasons starting line up.
