Adrian Wojnarowski (Yahoo Sports) says three finalists could return to Cleveland next week to give presentations to both James and his agent.
Though many still expect James to stay in Miami, James and his agent are giving other teams a chance to make a pitch to his agent.
James has made it clear to the Heat that he wants a better supporting cast, but has also made it clear that he wants to make as close to max money as possible, and isn’t willing to take a pay cut.
The Rockets have to be one of the favorites to land James if he chooses to leave the Heat. The Cavs are obviously favorites if James wants to go home, but they don’t give James the best chance to win. The Suns and Mavs can pitch to James the chance to pair himself with another superstar of his choice with their cap room.
With the Rockets, James would already have two other stars in place, and a solid supporting cast ready to go, that would vault the Rockets to the top of the NBA.
We should know a lot more by next week.
