The Houston Rockets could be interested in SF Luol Deng and SG/SF Thabo Sefolosha according to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.

If the Rockets cannot land one of the top free agents, they would likely look to get help at the wing positions. Either way, they could bring back Francisco Garcia, who as expected opted out of his contract. The Rockets would also have interest in Luol Deng or former Rockets forward Trevor Ariza, a person with knowledge of the Rockets’ plans said, though Deng is expected to receive contract offers greater than the Rockets would probably make and Ariza is likely to return to Washington. The Rockets also have interest in Thunder small forward Thabo Sefolosha.

Deng, 29, would be a nice fit in Houston if not for Chandler Parsons. The Rockets would likely be interested in Deng if they were to strike out on LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, and if Parsons signed elsewhere without the Rockets matching his contract.

Regardless, it doesn’t seem likely we see Deng in a Rockets uniform. All signs point to Parsons staying in Houston, and even if he doesn’t, it’s likely Deng finds better offers at an earlier time than what Houston can propose.

Sefolosha, 30, is someone the Rockets may target once they’ve made their big moves. The Rockets could use a defensive-minded wing player, and Sefolosha could be a cheap option off the bench for the Rockets.

Everything starts with James and Anthony. Once those two decide on their destination the rest of the dominoes will fall. Until then, we wait…
