The Houston Rockets have previously expressed interest in Milwaukee Bucks SF/PF Ersan Ilyasova. Gery Woelfel (The Journal Times) says the Rockets and Bucks could work out a trade to send Ilyasova to Houston.
And there is also Houston, which has the 25th pick and failed in its attempt to secure a “stretch 4” at the trading deadline in February.
Ilyasova, 27, is a career 37 percent 3-point shooter but shot just 28 percent from beyond the arc last season. However, he shot 44.4 percent from three just two seasons ago, and 45.5 percent three seasons ago.
Ilyasova is due $7.9 million in each of the next two seasons, with a team option for $8.4 million for the 2016-2017 season.
The Rockets have the 25th overall pick and the Bucks would seem happy with that compensation for Ilyasova. However, the Rockets can’t afford to make that swap and would have to include salary in such a deal.
Ilyasova would be a nice fit for the Rockets, but a deal seems unlikely at this point. You never know though with Daryl Morey running things.
