A Rough Day: Houston Astros Minor League Recap June 21st

Houston Astros Minor League Recap: June 21st

The raging news right now for the Houston Astros Minor League system is the loss of Carlos Correa for the foreseeable future. But let us concentrate try on the positive, even in the face of loss and defeat. See below about how the Astros system performed on this past Saturday.

  • The Oklahoma City RedHawks were foiled in 11 innings to the score of 4-3 by the Tacoma Rainers, and in the process wasting a strong start in seven innings from Brett Oberholtzer.
  • Even behind Mike Hauschild and his seven strong innings giving up just three runs, the Corpus Christi Hooks are shut out 3-0 against the Frisco RoughRiders.
  • A double whammy happened on Saturday for the Lancaster JetHawks. Not only did they lose Carlos Correa to a broken ankle possibly for the rest of the season, they also suffered a 7-5 loss to the Lake Elsinore Storm.
  • The Quad City River Bandits fall back to a .500 record following a 9-2 defeat thanks to the Peroia Chiefs. James Ramsay provided a triple and a RBI in the loss.
  • Following an offensive explosion the TriCity ValleyCats climb over .500 and take a 11-0 win over the Lowell Spinners. Starting pitcher Troy Scribner allowed zero runs over the course of five innings in the victory for the ValleyCats.
  • The Greeneville Astros manage a tight 6-5 victory over the Elizabethton Twins. Angel Heredia pitched two scoreless innings of relief to earn the win for the Astros.
