Deals, Defeats & A Doubleheader: Houston Astros MiLB Recap: June 20

And that will do it!  Friday night’s bustling action in the Pacific Coast, Texas, California and Midwest Leagues resulted in all four of our teams prevailing over their respective opponents.  Even though the River Bandits dropped their makeup game tonight, I’m still calling it a sweep because technically that game would’ve been played yesterday had it not been rained out.  Interesting logic, huh?!?  Get that broom out!

The hot-hitting RedHawks defeated the Reno Aces 12-8, winning three out of four for the series win.  The team had 17 total hits on the night!

The Corpus Christi Hooks put a stop to a four-game skid by beating the RoughRiders 4-1.  The team put out 12 hits and Brady Rodgers worked hard to fan four in 5.0 innings.

Carlos Correa hit his 6th home run of the season — the first since May 28 — as the JetHawks held on to beat the Lake Elsinore Storm 3-2.  Josh Hader had a solid outing, striking out three, walking two and allowing only three hits in 6.0 frames.

The River Bandits participated in a double header against the Peoria Chiefs making up last night’s rain out — they won one out of two for the split.  Chan Moon, Brett Booth and Brett Phillips all shined and Evan Grills pitched a gem in the loss of the makeup game — fanning two, walking one and allowing seven hits in 7.0 innings of work.
