He finished with a 2.93 ERA and 19 saves in 43 innings with the Astros before being dealt to the Detroit Tigers. Veras finished with a 3.20 ERA in 19 innings with the Tigers. The Astros acquired Danry Vasquez and David Paulino from the Tigers inn exchange for Veras.

The Astros also placed Josh Fields on the disabled list. Fields left Saturday’s game with forearm sorenesss. Paul Clemens is back up with the Astros to replace Fields.

Fields allowed just two earned runs since being called back up in May. He has struck out 22 and walked three in his last 15.1 innings.
