HoH Roundtable: Which Quarterback Should The Houston Texans Cut?

The Houston Texans were looking for an answer at quarterback this offseason, but it doesn’t appear they found their answer quite yet. They signed Ryan Fitzpatrick this offseason and spent a fourth round pick on Tom Savage. Those two, combined with Case Keenum and T.J. Yates brings the total number of quarterbacks on the Texans roster to four.

Bill O’Brien has said that it’s tough giving reps to all four quarterbacks, leading some to believe the Texans will cut one of the Texans quarterbacks in the near future. The House of Houston staff discuss which quarterback the Texans should cut if they decide to go in that direction.

Check out (below) our roundtable from Reply All. This conversation will be developing throughout the day so be sure to check back in a few times as we discuss how the Texans should handle the situation. Seems like a lot of folks have completely forgotten that Yates was first to come in to “relieve” Schaub in games 5 and 6. In game 5 he did nothing at all and in game 6 he had as many yards throwing to the Texans as he did to the Rams (pick 6). This is how he “stepped up” after 3 years as backup.
Keenum then got the nod in game 7 onward and damn near won games after spending all his previous NFL time on the practice squad, mostly not even playing QB.

Actually I hope that Case can join a team that wants him and sees potential in him and is willing to invest some time and patience in his development. I would hope that team would be the Texans. But he is better than a PS OR 3rd stringent. So use him or lose him.
