Swipes, Strikes & Shutouts: Houston Astros MiLB Recap: June 6

Swipes, Strikes & Shutouts: Houston Astros MiLB Recap: June 6

Bada boom, bada bing! Friday night’s strenuous action in the Pacific Coast, Texas, California and Midwest Leagues resulted in three out of our four teams notching a win on their respective belts.

The RedHawks are currently on a three-game skid after being defeated by the Storm Chasers 2-6.  Despite all of that, David Martinez still pitched six scoreless innings before exiting that game.

The Corpus Christi Hooks blanked the RockHounds 2-0.  Jordan Jankowski‘s domineering performance was a major factor — he tossed 7.1 scoreless innings, walking one and fanning seven!

The scorching Jethawks beat the Visalia Rawhide 8-5 and they only need to win five more games to qualify for the playoffs.

For the River Bandits, they avoided the fury of the Burlington Bees shutting them out 4-0.

The River Bandits are one game behind the Peoria Chiefs to clinch a playoff spot with nine games left to go.
