Houston Astros: George Springer wins AL Rookie of Month

There was definitely plenty of sunshine for George Springer during the month of May.  After completing a brow-raising performance that was the fuel for Astros’ notable current performance of winning eight of their last 10 games, it’s well-deserved and warranted.

In May, Springer had 10 home runs and 25 RBI’s while batting an exceptional .294 with a first-rate 1.032 on-base plus slugging percentage (OPS).

The Houston Chronicle’s Jose de Jesus Ortiz’s take on Springer raking in the honors:

Springer’s reaction according to de Jesus Ortiz:

The Houston Astros celebratory, enthusiastic tweet about Springer’s honors:

CSN Houston’s Howard Chen’s interesting take with a bit of humor:

This award is a testament of the hard work that Springer has brought to the table for the Houston Astros.

It only cements him as a centerpiece for being a part of the Astros’ success from here on out.  It’s good to know that the light at the end of the tunnel doesn’t seem as dim anymore.

Thank you George Springer for giving all Astros’ fans alike hope — we want to see more Springer Dingers!  Go ‘Stros!
