Francisco Garcia

Cisco has a player option year for next season but there have been rumors that he may not exercise it and choose to move on.

Garcia, 32, has been a solid role player in the NBA for years. He brings a veteran presence to what is still a very young Rockets roster. There is intrinsic value to an organization to have a guy like Garcia on the roster so that the younger players can learn how to handle the grind of the NBA season, the distractions that come and how to take care of themselves mentally and physically.

The Rockets certainly value his veteran leadership on the bench but the 3-point shot wasn’t as consistent as they had hoped and his defense continues to fall off with age. At this point it’s likely no better than a 50% chance that he returns.
