Andre Johnson was not lying when he told us that he would not attend OTA’s.
Johnson, a seven time Pro Baller, and third pick in the 2003 NFL draft, originally expressed desire to play for his third head coach, but has yet to attend any of the Texans’ offseason events, with the first dating back to April 7th, 2014. He was not afraid to talk about his dissatisfaction when interviewed two weeks ago. He said he wasn’t so sure that Houston was the place for him but added that he hadn’t requested a trade nor has he spoken to anyone about his contract.
The problem might be that he is less than satisfied with yet another new coach, which might make the 2014-2015 season a rebuilding year for the Houston Texans. He has, after all, been in the league for 11 seasons and has only been to the playoffs twice.
Bill O’Brien, first-year head coach repeated his comments on the issue, “I have a ton of respect for him. We’d love to have him here now. That’s up to him.”
It looks as though the ball is now bouncing in Andre Johnson‘s court and we will be awaiting his next move.
