Houston Astros Minor League Recap: May 14th

Houston Astros Minor League Recap: May 14th

Three of the four minor league teams were in action with OKC getting the day off. This means, unfortunately, there was no Singleton homerun today. Here are the other numbers.

AAA: Oklahoma City Redhawks (22-18) – OFF

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (20-19) won 7-6 in 13 innings (BOX SCORE)

After making up the end of the game yesterday which went 12 innings, the Hooks played a 13 inning game today. CC scored in the top of the 10th, 11th and 12th. Heras played in his first game since May 1st. Aplin is now hitting .299 with a .412 OBP. After a slow start, Duffy now leads the Hooks in RBI with 27.

A+: Lancaster Jethawks (23-17) lost 10-0 (BOX SCORE)

As you can tell the Jethawks were not able to get much going with the bats, only 2 hits and 5 walks. Kemp is hitting .450 (18-40) over his last 10 games. Nice to see Ruiz draw some walks. I am trying to find positives in this game but it is tough.

A: Quad Cities River Bandits (18-20) lost 5-1 (BOX SCORE)

QC scored in the top of the first and never scored again. Phillips is hitting .307 with a .385 OBP. Moon is hitting .314 with 13 SB in 37 games. Gregor is still looking for his first HR of the season.

Today’s Scheduled Starting Pitchers (according to team websites):

OKC – Nick Tropeano (2.94 ERA)

CC – Kyle Smith (10.38 ERA)

LC – Kyle Westwood (3.73 ERA)

QC – Adrian Houser (4.67 ERA)
