Houston Astros Recall Josh Zeid, Send Josh Fields To OKC

The Houston Astros have announced that they called up Josh Zeid from Triple-A OKC. Zeid will replace Josh Fields who has been sent down to make room for Zeid.

Zeid, 27, allowed two runs in three innings earlier this season before being sent down in April. At OKC, Zeid threw 11.1 innings allowing three earned runs with 12 strikeouts.

Fields on the other hand has been a complete disaster as of late. The 28-year old has a 12.00 ERA in 12 innings this season, recording just two saves while amassing an 0-3 record. Hitters are hitting .340 against Fields this season, including last night’s six-hit, five-run performance in just 0.2 innings against the Detroit Tigers.

Zeid will now be given another opportunity to prove his worth in the porous Astros bullpen.
