"Friends Of Rick Smith" Start Weighing In On The Texans First Pick

You can now add Ian Rapoport (NFL.com) to the list of reporters who have spoken to the friends of Rick Smith.

Rapoport joins Peter King (MMQB) who was the first to talk with the friends of Rick Smith (dubbed FROS) who also said the Texans may not be 100 percent sold on Jadeveon Clowney. Adam Schefter (ESPN) also said that Clowney isn’t the “locked-in” #1 pick and that Khalil Mack is a possibility.

As Rapoport also mentions, if the Texans do select Khalil Mack, then it will send a shockwave through the draft with St. Louis in a great position to either select Clowney or trade their pick to the highest bidder.

It seems clear that the Texans are willing to deal their pick though it’s getting hard to tell which reports are a smokescreen and which ones are true. Almost 99% of the reports are false but at this point it’s almost worth it to tell the truth simply because other teams will think you’re lying.

Lots of strategy going on these last few days leading up to the draft. Let’s just start this thing already!
