Houston Texans Release Danieal Manning

After signing safety Chris Clemons on Friday, the Houston Texans have released Danieal Manning according to Adam Shefter:

Danieal Manning joined the Houston Texans in 2011. He was a major player in making the Houston Texans defense elite that season.

It was reported late last week that the Houston Texans asked Manning to take a pay cut. Manning’s agent replied back to the Texans offer, by telling them that the pay cut was too much. It was only a matter of time before he was released after the report came out.

With the release of Manning, the current safeties on the Texans roster are D.J. Swearinger, Kendrick Lewis, Shiloh Keo, Eddie Pleasant, and Chris Clemons.

Manning joins Matt Schaub and Owen Daniels, as starters from last season to be released or traded. Most fans are wondering when Derek Newton will head to the unemployment line.
