Breaking: Patrick Beverley Has A Torn Meniscus In Right Knee

Adrian Wojnarowski (Yahoo Sports) says that Patrick Beverley has a torn mesiscus in his right knee.

The Rockets and Beverley are unsure if the injury will cost him both the regular season and the playoffs.

Beverley was injured last night in the win against the Philadelphia 76′ers. At the time it was reported that he had a sprained knee, but Wojnarowski says the news is much worse.

Though his exact timetable is unclear, I can only imagine he will miss the remaining 11 games of the season, including three important matchups against the Los Angeles Clippers (tomorrow), Oklahoma City Thunder, and the San Antonio Spurs in the last game of the season.

With Beverley injured, Jeremy Lin will take over his role in the starting lineup. Isaiah Canaan will be expected to play important minutes off the bench. The Rockets could also look for a veteran point guard in free agency if Beverley is expected to miss the whole season and the playoffs.

For now, Rockets fans can only hope that he can make it back for the playoffs. With Tony Parker, Damian Lillard, Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, and other great offensive point guards in the Western Conference, it will be crucial for the Rockets to get the pesky Beverley as healthy as possible in the quickest manner.
