Johnny Manziel Pro Day - Don't Act Like You're Not Impressed

The Johnny Manziel Pro Day was apparently quite the spectacle. He hit 61 of 64 passes, all over the field. There were multiple reports that his passes showed great velocity, and the ball was dropping effortlessly in the receiver’s hands.

After Manziel’s impressive performance, you can almost guarantee Mel Kiper and Todd McShay will have a change of heart in their next set of mock drafts. Moving Blake Bortles out of the top spot and inserting Johnny Manziel in his place.

One thing to keep in mind when looking at these “experts” mock drafts. They never account “stupid” into their selections. They go off a biased format, as to who they would pick, if they they were in charge. Which is fair, but remember that Jerry Jones and Al Davis’ bloodline are still in charge of NFL teams. So, maybe it’s about time, they took a realistic approach to their mock drafts.

Back to Manziel… Here’s what Twitter looked like during his Pro Day:

I’m glad Manziel didn’t completely crap the bed, like Teddy Bridgewater. These plays were all scripted and he’s been working with the receivers on routes for quite sometime. For more thoughts on Manziel’s Pro Day see our Podcast below. Texas A&M grad Mac Wolff and I, discuss the Manziel craze in College Station. We get to the Texans around the 30 minute mark or so.

As much as I can’t stand the kid. He shined today I watched beginning to end just like his college games still don’t trust him to be great in the NFL and I can’t answer why than I seen him play so many teams and he never hit open receivers just run run run. Maybe its height. Maybe its ego but O’Brien won’t go for it. He plays multiple formations pro style hurry up run offense. And this kid gots ants in his pants. Love to see stay hate to see him go. But I still want Teddy go through progressions like nothing and just seems like a better player despite pro day s I’m torn between both man.

I’m a “go big or go home” type of guy. Bridgewater seems safe. Don’t like it. Manziel can be a huge boom…or the opposite. Love Manziel’s style and I hope if they take a QB it’s him.
