Preview: Houston Rockets At Charlotte Bobcats

The Houston Rockets (47-22) face the Charlotte Bobcats (34-36) who are somehow playoff bound in the Eastern Conference. The Rockets have won three straight as they look to continue to beat up on the weaker teams. All three wins have been without Dwight Howard who is questionable to play today. The Bobcats are coming off a 30-point win of their own against the Portland Trail Blazers. The Rockets are 1-0 against the Bobcats this season, with their win coming on Opening Night. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM and can be seen on CSN Houston.

The Matchups

Point Guard: Patrick Beverley v.s. Kemba Walker

Kemba is averaging close to 18 points and 6 assists per game this season. He’s shooting just 40.6% from the field this season and Beverley is certainly capable of making it a long night for Walker.

Edge: Bobcats

Shooting Guard: James Harden v.s. Gerald Henderson

Henderson is coming off of a 23/8/5 performance against the Blazers but he’ll have his hands full tonight with the league’s best shooting guard.

Edge: Rockets

Small Forward: Chandler Parsons v.s. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

Chandler wins this matchup everywhere, including having more total “A’s” in his name.

Edge: Rockets

Power Forward: Terrence Jones v.s. Josh McRoberts

McRoberts should really be coming off the bench but the Bobcats don’t have many better options. Jones has been averaging 16.5 ppg in his last four games, after scoring a combined 19 points in his previous four games beforehand.

Edge: Rockets

Center: Dwight Howard v.s. Al Jefferson

I’ve always loved the way Jefferson has played and he may be the best low-post player in the game. Howard is a GTD but I bet he suits up tonight.

Edge: Even

Bobcats – Luke Ridnour, Bismack Biyombo, Gary Neal, Chris Douglas-Roberts, Cody Zeller

Prediction - Bobcats are an underrated squad, but the Rockets are in cruise mode. Rockets 111-102.
