The unthinkable has been pulled off. The Houston Texans were able to acquire a 6th round pick in exchange for QB Matt Schaub. Adam Schefter (ESPN) reported the deal was close earlier this morning, and the trade was dependent on a physical. It looks like Schaub’s ear is healthy and the Raiders pulled the trigger.
The Oakland Raiders twitter account was the first to announce the deal was official.

NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport was the first to report the exchange. The pick will be the 5th pick in the 6th round.
Rapoport believes the Texans did a great job finding a team for Schaub.
Credit to #Texans GM Rick Smith, who showed patience in not dumping Schaub when everyone thought he would. Netted a 6th rounder & cap space

Evan Silva (Rotoworld.com) also agrees the Texans did well.
#Raiders got robbed. Again.

Well there it is Texans fans. Your arch-nemesis is finally gone. The guy known for throwing many pick-6’s this past season is now being traded for a 6th round pick. The irony.
Schaub finishes his 7-year career in Houston with over 23,000 passing yards, 124 touchdowns, and 78 interceptions. He finished with just 2,310 passing yards in 2013 and an abysmal 10/14 – TD/INT ratio.
Unfortunately for Schaub, people remember you for what you have done for me lately and not what you have done for me in the past. His 2013 pick-6 filled season will be remember by Texans fans for a long, long time.
