Earlier this morning, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the Houston Texans and Oakland Raiders are close on a deal that would send Matt Schaub to Oakland.
Oakland Raiders now are expected to trade a 2014 late-round pick to Houston Texans in exchange for QB Matt Schaub, per league source.

The Texans will receive a pick in the 5th-7th round of this year’s NFL Draft. Matt Schaub is headed to Oakland now to take a physical. Once he passes the physical (you never know these days), the deal will then be official.
UPDATE: Deal is official according to Raiders Twitter account.

More from Adam Schefter’s article:
Schaub, who has a $14.5 million salary-cap figure and a $10 million base salary for 2014, became expendable when the Texans signed former Tennessee Titansquarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to a two-year deal Thursday night.
The Texans wanted a veteran QB on their roster and once the Texans signed Ryan Fitzpatrick yesterday, it allowed the Texans to finally move on from Schaub. SportsRadio610 was the first to report the Texans and Raiders were in trade talks for the quarterback. Here’s how some in the media reacted to the trade:
I wouldn’t trade a bag of monkey nuts for Matt Schaub, let alone a draft pick. — Sam Monson (@PFF_Sam) March 21, 2014
Schaub looked like the oldest QB in the league last year. That’s an achievement considering the guys in the league right now. — Cian Fahey (@Cianaf) March 21, 2014
Oakland gonna read twitter and be like “nah he has a bad pinky, fail this physical” — Sully (@SullyFootball) March 21, 2014
The Raiders’ best hope in the Schaub deal is that the draft pick traded will be returned for a touchdown. — SI_DougFarrar (@SI_DougFarrar) March 21, 2014
Schaub is finally gone! How are you feeling today?
