The Houston Texans rumor mill got a little spicy this Sunday afternoon. According to Garret Heinrich of Sports Radio 610, the Houston Texans are trying to work out a deal to move Matt Schaub to Oakland.
The Houston Texans and Oakland Raiders have been in serious talks about a trade involving Matt Schaub heading to Oakland, a source has told SportsRadio 610.
SportsRadio 610 learned that the Texans are trying to make the deal and eventually want a quarterback that can step in an play right away in 2014, whether that is in the draft or in a trade.
There is no word on who or what the Texans would be receiving back from Oakland or if any other players would leave the Texans.
The Texans are one of two teams that have yet to sign a free agent. The Rams are the other.
I’m assuming that Oakland Raiders quarterback Matt McGloin, is apart of the trade talks. He played for Bill O’Brien at Penn State, before signing with Oakland as an undrafted free agent, last season. In the one season that McGloin played under O’Brien, he threw for 3,271 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. Last season with Oakland he played seven games, had a little over 1,500 yards, for 8 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions. His only win as a starter came against the Houston Texans.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
