Preview: Houston Rockets At Miami Heat

The Houston Rockets aren’t coming into this game nearly as hot as they were last week when they handed the Heat a 106-103 loss. They were basically a no-show Thursday in Chicago where it seemed the Bulls couldn’t miss, and the Rockets’ rim had a Montrose sized manhole covering it.  They look to avoid the first 3-game skid of the season Sunday when they visit American Airlines Arena in Miami.

Miami is in worse shape, losing 5 of their last 6,with the first loss of their skid coming at the hand of the Rockets. Since LeBron’s 61 points against lowly Charlotte, he has barely managed 20 points per game, an average that would place him outside the top 15 in scoring. While it’s becoming evident the Heat aren’t what they were last year, they still own a 25-6 record at home and remain a force to be reckoned with.

The Rockets -Heat game can be seen at 2:30 P.M. on ABC and CSN Houston, and heard on 740 AM.

The Matchups

Point Guard:
Patrick Beverley v.s. Mario Chalmers

PatMan has created quite the reputation over the past few weeks with his pestering defense. If he can maintain his PFs, I like his defense agasint Chalmers.

Slight Edge: Rockets

Shooting Guard: James Harden v.s. Dwyane Wade

Though Wade has come to life, his team has still lost 5 of 6. Harden is still the best 2-guard in the league.

Edge: Rockets

Small ForwardChandler Parsons v.s. LeBron James

Lucky for LeBron they aren’t in sleeves.  He gets the edge.

Edge: Heat

Power Forward: Terrence Jones v.s. Shane Battier

The Rockets are 27-3 on the season when Jones scores more than 10 points. Terrence gets 11 and Rockets fly home victors.

Edge: Rockets

CenterDwight Howard v.s. Chris Bosh

Dwight’s coming off back-to-back abysmal performances. Facing Chris Bosh is the perfect opportunity to bounce back.

Edge: Rockets
