Houston Texans: Antonio Smith Likely On His Way Out; Visits Lined Up

Antonio Smith spoke to members of the Houston Texans media today and it appears as if he won’t return to the Texans. Smith said the Texans have yet to make him an offer though also said he would like to return to the Houston.

Smith will head to Washington first to visit with the Redskins. The Tennessee Titans, St. Louis Rams, and Oakland Raiders are also on Smith’s tour across America.

The 32-year old has been with the Texans since 2009, after signing a 5-year deal with the Texans back then. In the last four seasons, Smith has only missed one game, and that was for swinging at Richie Incognito (round of applause).

I expect Smith to get a much bigger deal elsewhere than what the Texans will likely offer. He will likely take a few days to sign as other defensive lineman come rushing off the market. The “Ninja” will be missed if he were to end up outside of Houston, but I don’t think any fans will miss all the yellow flags thrown because of him.
