Jarred Cosart: The Man, The Myth, The Troll

“Cosart being Cosart.” Words spoken from a man who will remain nameless. He will remain nameless, because I would hate for Jarred Cosart to blow up his Twitter account, and troll him for words that I put on internet.

In case you haven’t heard, Jarred Cosart used an offensive gay slur yesterday on Twitter. Our friends over at Climbing Tal’s Hill has deemed Cosart’s latest folly as, Cosart Gate 2014: Part II.

Now I’m no stranger to writing opinion pieces. In fact, I prefer opinion posts, because I’m mouthy, and I think people actually care what I think. Which is probably further from the truth. But nevertheless, I have been given an outlet to word vomit all over you kind folks. So don your raincoats, because this word vomit is about to get messier than a R. Kelly sex move.

It’s no secret that Justin Bieber is a complete douche bag. He might even be the reason that terrorists hate America. Instead of calling Biebs an offensive gay slur, I will continue my charade of Justin Bieber bashing, with words that have five letters or less, in the same context as Cosart’s tweet.

“yeah you guys claim that loser bieber too smh about right”

“yeah you guys claim that ass bieber too smh about right”

“yeah you guys claim that tool bieber too smh about right”

“yeah you guys claim that waste bieber too smh about right”

That was simple enough. No, offensive slur needed to get my point across.

I don’t think that Cosart meant anything by his offensive slur. I perceived it in the sense that he was calling Bieber a douche. But that’s an assumption on my part. Either way it still doesn’t make it right.

At first glance yesterday, I thought to myself, “Michael Sam coming out, makes what Cosart said so much worse.” It dawned on me that what Michael Sam did, shouldn’t play a part into Cosart’s remarks. For two reasons:

1.  Cosart wasn’t talking about Michael Sam when he sent out that tweet.

2.  People are stupid. While driving home yesterday, I heard the most nonsensical takes about Michael Sam, on sports radio. Attention Earth: Gay people exist. They walk among us, teach your children, run your cities… Why wouldn’t they play football? Big deal. Who cares. The end.

If you’re looking for a reason to crush Cosart, mock the fact that he’s a troll on Twitter (this will undoubtedly be the part where I end up in Jarred Cosart’s Twitter hit list).

Cosart is very self-aware about what people write or say about him. He has no problem calling out his critics on Twitter.

Personally, I could care less who he calls out or what he does. I do find this whole thing a tad funny. Nothing puts a target on your back like using an offensive slur. So maybe, don’t use them on social media? Or just don’t be stupid?

Congrats Jarred Cosart, you have just become Amanda Bynes on Twitter.
