Preview: Houston Rockets At Dallas Mavericks

After defeating the San Antonio Spurs last night for the third time this season, the Houston Rockets head to Dallas to take on the 26-20 Mavericks. The Rockets are 1-2 against the Mavericks this season, and lost the last matchup by seven without Harden, Beverley, and others. Tonight’s game is at 7:30 PM and can be seen on Fox Sports Southwest and CSN Houston.

Because we love complaining about the NBA schedule makers, how about this one for all of you guys. The Rockets just came off a tough win against the Spurs and travel to Dallas for their second game of a back-to-back, meanwhile, the Mavericks have sat at home for the last few days after coming off a win against the Pistons on Sunday night! SCREW YOU SCHEDULE MAKERS!

The Matchups

Point Guard: Patrick Beverley v.s. Jose Calderon

Calderon shoots 45.2% from beyond the arc. Beverley and the rest of the Rockets perimeter defense will need to be on their game tonight.

Edge: Even

Shooting Guard: Jeremy Lin v.s. Monta Ellis

I’m going to guess Harden is out for this one as well. Lin had 20 points against the Mavericks in December when Harden was out, and needs to put up similar numbers tonight if Harden sits.

Edge: Mavericks

Small Forward: Chandler Parsons v.s. Shawn Marion

Marion’s 11/7 line on a nightly basis is about all you could ask for from the 35-year old.

Edge: Rockets

Power Forward: Terrence Jones v.s. Dirk Nowitzki

Jones allowed 31 points to Nowitzki last time out, though he actually played a pretty decent game defensively against one of the NBA’s best power forwards. Jones was the energizer bunny last night and the Rockets will need a similar performance tonight.

Edge: Mavericks

Center: Dwight Howard v.s. Samuel Dalembert

Howard went off for 29 points and 15 boards the last time these two teams met.

Edge: Rockets

Prediction – Rockets coming off a big win but don’t have enough as the Mavericks take this one 101-93.
