Preview: Houston Rockets v.s. Oklahoma City Thunder

The Houston Rockets head home after a 3-1 road trip to face the 28-10 Thunder. The last time these two teams faced off, the Rockets were finishing off a stretch of 8 games in 12 nights and it ended with a 31-point loss on the road. Tonight’s game is at 8:30 PM and can be seen on TNT.

I’m doing a preview conversation on Reply All with Zebulun Benbrook of Welcome To Loud City. Check it out! Click here for their preview of tonight’s game.

The Matchups

Point Guard: Jeremy Lin v.s. Reggie Jackson

Jackson severely outplayed Lin the last time these two matched up. Jackson has been averaging 13.6 points in his last 10 games.

Edge: Rockets

Shooting Guard: James Harden v.s. Thabo Sefolosha

Sefolosha scored 13 points last game, and that was while shooting 1-6 from beyond the arc. I can’t imagine the Rockets win this game if Sefolosha scores over 15 points.

Edge: Rockets

Small Forward: Chandler Parsons v.s. Kevin Durant

The Rockets last played the Thunder on December 29th, 2013. Then, he was averaging JUST 28.3 ppg. Today, that number is up to 29.8 ppg. Durant has scored at least 30 points in 8 of his last 10 games. Durant on national TV against a good team…I’ll predict 42 points.

Edge: Thunder

Power Forward: Terrence Jones v.s. Serge Ibaka

Both forwards weren’t a big part of the last matchup. Jones put up 25 points in last night’s win over the Pelicans, and the Rockets are going to need a similar performance from him tonight.

Edge: Thunder

Center: Dwight Howard v.s. Kendrick Perkins

The fact that Perkins held Howard to a 9/9 line last matchup pisses me off and it should piss off Howard even more. Perkins is horrendous.

Edge: Rockets
