Preview: Houston Rockets At Atlanta Hawks

The 23-13 Houston Rockets now head on a 4-game road trip and start tonight against the 19-17 Atlanta Hawks. The Rockets are 1-0 against the Hawks this season, after a big win courtesy of a strong performance from the bench. This matchup will be a bit different than the one earlier this season. Last game, the Rockets faced the Hawks without James Harden, and Jeremy Lin left the game after a few minutes with an injury. Tonight, the Rockets are expected to be without Chandler Parsons and the Hawks will be without Al Horford. You can catch tonight’s game at 6:30 PM on CSN Houston.

The Matchups

Point Guard: Jeremy Lin v.s. Jeff Teague

Teague is averaging close to 17 ppg and 8 apg on the season, though he put up just four points in the last matchup against the Rockets (v.s. Beverley). Expect a better game from Teague tonight.

Edge: Hawks

Shooting Guard: James Harden v.s. Kyle Korver

As much as I hate Korver from his Jazz days, he would be a great fit in Houston. He’s shooting 47% from beyond the arc, and it’s been forever since he hasn’t hit a three-ball in a game.

Edge: Rockets

Small Forward: Ronnie Brewer (?) v.s. DeMarre Carroll

With Parsons out, I expect to see Brewer in the lineup, specifically to defend Korver. Carroll himself isn’t much of an offensive threat, and it would make more sense to see Harden’s defense, or lack thereof, on Mr. Carroll.

Edge: Even

Power Forward: Terrence Jones v.s. Paul Millsap

All Rockets fans know what Milsap brings to the table. Very good, under appreciated player.

Edge: Hawks

Center: Dwight Howard v.s. Pero Antic

Who is Antic? Averaging 12/5 this month and shooting 54.5% from beyond the arc. He’ll force Howard outside the paint.
