Preview: Houston Rockets v.s. Memphis Grizzlies

Woooo! Going into San Antonio under the bright lights AND getting the win?!? Absolutely love it! Now the Rockets head home to face the 12-15 Memphis Grizzlies. The Rockets are 1-0 against the Grizzlies this season coming back to defeat them 93-86 in late November. This time around things are a bit different for the both teams. The Rockets were without James Harden and the Grizzlies were with Tayshaun Prince, whereas tonight it will be the opposite. Tonight’s game is at 7:00 PM and can be seen on TNT and CSN Houston.

The Matchups

Point Guard: Jeremy Lin v.s. Mike Conley

Conley leads the Grizzlies in scoring (17.3 ppg) and is one of their biggest threats on the floor. Lin will need a repeat defensive performance from last night after holding Tony Parker to just 6 points.

Edge: Grizzlies

Shooting Guard: James Harden v.s. Tony Allen

Allen is tasked with guarding the best player on the court every night. Should be a fun matchup between two players doing what they do best.

Edge: Rockets

Small Forward: Chandler Parsons v.s. James Johnson

Yes, that James Johnson. The former Rio Grande Valley Viper was picked up by the Grizzlies earlier this month. In 4 games he’s averaging 6.8 ppg.

Edge: Rockets

Power Forward: Terrence Jones v.s. Zach Randolph

Though Randolph isn’t a big name, he’s still one of the better power forwards in the game. Randolph is averaging a shade under 17/10 this season. Hopefully we see the Jones from last night (21/14).

Edge: Grizzlies

Center: Dwight Howard v.s. Kosta Koufos

Howard’s favorite cereal is Kosta Koufos.
