Preview: Houston Rockets v.s. Chicago Bulls

The Houston Rockets got a much needed two-day break as they rest up from injuries following their loss to the Sacramento Kings. James Harden, Terrence Jones, Chandler Parsons, Omer Asik, and Jeremy Lin all missed practice time this week with varying injuries. Tonight’s preview is a tough one to write. Omer Asik could be traded any time before game time and it’s tough to tell which Rockets will suit up. Here’s my best guess for tonight’s matchups. Tonight’s game is at 8:30 PM and can be seen on ESPN or CSN Houston.

The Matchups

Point Guard: Patrick Beverley v.s. Marquis Teague

The Bulls are committed to giving as much playing time to Teague as possible following the release of Mike James. D.J. Augustin should see lots of minutes here as well.

Edge: Rockets

Shooting Guard: Francisco Garcia v.s. Jimmy Butler

I’m going to go out on a limb and say Harden won’t play tonight. Butler is averaging 11/4 in 12 starts this season.

UPDATE: James Harden is expected to suit up.

Edge: Even Rockets

Small Forward: Chandler Parsons v.s. Luol Deng

Deng is averaging 19.7 ppg and 7.1 rpg in 19 starts this season. He hasn’t been effective from beyond the arc, shooting just 27.8% from three. Expect Deng to play at least 40 minutes tonight.

Edge: Bulls

Power Forward: Terrence Jones v.s. Carlos Boozer

Does anyone even like Boozer?

Edge: Bulls

Center: Dwight Howard v.s. Joakim Noah

Kind of ironic that Omer Asik could be traded the day these two teams play each other. These two centers are the reason Omer Asik hasn’t receive much playing time in his career.

Side note: I hate the way Noah shoots his free throws.

Edge: Rockets
