The Houston Rockets are on their last game of the west-coast road trip as they face the Sacramento Kings this early evening. The Rockets are coming off a great road win against the Golden State Warriors and hope to keep the momentum going against the 6-15 Kings. The Rockets have had trouble in the past not playing up to par against worse teams and can’t fall into that trap again tonight. The Kings just traded away almost all former Rockets in exchange for Rudy Gay. Francisco Garcia, Omri Casspi, and Aaron Brooks make their return to Sacramento. Tonight’s game is at 5:00 PM and can be seen on CSN Houston.
With Greivis Vasquez gone, it’s time for Thomas to show Kings fans what he can do with starter’s minutes. Thomas dropped 29 points in Friday’s loss to the Suns and is averaging 18.8 ppg this season.
Who?!? (Note: Last time I made fun of an opposing team’s shooting guard, James Anderson made me pay!)
Gay netted 24 points, while shooting 8-12 from the field in his debut with the Kings Friday night. Last time Gay played against the Rockets with the Raptors he had 29 points on 37 shots. I think the Rockets would take that performance again.
Thompson was a -25 in 14 minutes in Friday’s loss to the Suns. Thompson is averaging just 7.3/5.4 for the season.
Howard is averaging 21/17 in the last five games but Cousins should give him a real nice test in a battle of some of the best, if not THE BEST big men in the game.
