Houston Astros: Winter Meetings Day Three Roundup

David Banks-USA TODAY Sports

Day three saw the Astros more involved in free agency as well as another trade. The Astros acquired Anthony Bass and a PTBNL/cash for a PTBNL/cash. The ramifications of the trade should be known later today as it seems to be have to do with today’s Rule V draft. With the Astros expected to make another move before the Winter Meetings wrap up, let’s take a look at all the Astros rumors from yesterday.

Still waiting…

I was really bummed when the Astros selected Smoak over Jason Castro. Let’s just say I’m not so bummed anymore.

I spoke about Loney, here.

To me, Veras is the most likely to sign.

Love these tweets. Can’t hurt for Astros sources to tell their fans they tried. We will believe them even if not true.

Matt Thornton and J.P. Howell are two new names to add to the rumor mill. Thornton had a 3.74 ERA in 43.1 IP in 2013. Howell had a 2.03 ERA in 62 IP in 2013.

PLEASE SOMETHING HAPPEN!!!
