The Winter Meetings have finally arrived as they officially began yesterday in Orlando, Florida. Astros GM Jeff Luhnow flew in from Mexico for a week of
Disney Land fun important discussions between fellow general managers as well as players and agents from around the country. Here’s everything that went down yesterday.

Not so surprising. The Astros are known to have interest in bringing back Veras and there may be mutual interest between the two parties.
#Astros GM Jeff Luhnow just addressed media, says reliever and another bat are goals. Didn’t give indication anything was close.

Plenty of solid relievers still available. Jose Veras, Joel Hanrahan, and John Axford all have closing experience. Mark Trumbo, Domonic Brown, and Matt Kemp are some big bats that are rumored to be available as well.

Look who it is?!? Lucas Harrell was supposed to be one of the Astros biggest trade chips coming into the 2013 season, but after clashing with staff and management, many thought his value totally tanked. Some teams may think Harrell could succeed with a change of scenery, though the Astros may choose to keep Harrell as some believe new pitching coach Brent Strom could have a positive effect on Harrell. The Astros aren’t likely asking for much, and he could be a great buy-low for teams looking for back-end rotation help.
