The 9-9 Phoenix Suns head to town coming off a 110-91 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies just last night. The Rockets are coming off a surprising 109-103 loss to the Utah Jazz on Monday and should have that on their minds tonight. Many didn’t expect the Suns to be a .500 team at this point, but they’re comprised of a bunch of solid players who give it their all on a nightly basis. Tonight’s game is at 7:00 PM and can be seen on CSN Houston.
I love me some Goran! Arguably one of the most underrated players in the NBA, Dragic is averaging 17.9 ppg and 7.1 apg in 15 games this season. The lefty has been struggling from three (30.6%) this season but is great at getting to the rim. This will be an intriguing matchup with Beverley’s defensive wizardry on the former Rocket.
Acquired from the Clippers this past offseason, Bledsoe is one of the more exciting young players in the NBA. Bledsoe is averaging 18.8 ppg and 5.8 apg in 12 games this season and appears to work well with Dragic. A Bledose/Dragic backcourt is another matchup nightmare for James Harden.
Parsons missed Monday’s game and there’s no official word on his status for tonight’s game. Tucker has started all 18 games for the Suns, averaging close to 9 ppg.
Another stretch four that would look great in a Rockets uniform, Frye has been averaging 10.7 ppg and shooting 40.2% from beyond the arc. Jones played just 18 minutes in the Jazz loss, but should see more time tonight defending Frye.
The Suns love having a half of a pair of twins or brothers. Taylor Griffin, Robin Lopez, the Morris twins, now Miles Plumlee. Plumlee has been serviceable averaging 10.2 ppg/8.5 rpg. Howard has been better.
