The Houston Texans will face off against the Jacksonville Jaguars today at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas. You can catch the game on CBS at 12:00 p.m. CST.
Welp, it’s finally here. The game where, if we lose, we can finally say that we are the worst football team in the NFL. The game where we’re fighting for either our dignity or the number one overall pick in the 2014 draft… which just likely happens to be chock-full of quarterbacks.
The 1-9 Jacksonville Jaguars are currently defending the title of worst team in the league. That all may change this afternoon. Remember how I said the Texans would actively have to try to lose the game against the Oakland Raiders last week? Well, short of not taking the field, they would have to try even harder to lose this game. I mean Jacksonville is awful. They are truly deserving of the title they hold, whereas the Texans have merely squandered a greatly talented squad with bad coaching and bad leadership. The Houston Texans are 2-8 and they have played piss-poorly all season long and they are STILL ten-point favorites in this game. That’s how epically bad the Jaguars are. And that’s how epic of a laughing stock we will be if we lose. Then again, I guess we’ll be laughing all the way to the draft.
Look for Case Keenum to (hopefully) gain some of his confidence back against this non-existent defense. Similarly, look for J. J. Watt and the Texans’ defense to regain a bit of their swagger against this non-existent offense.
I mean what’s left to say, guys? This is literally the Super Bowl for the bottom of the bowl. I’m going to pick the Texans to win here but only because each time I have when playing crappy teams, they’ve lost. Each time I’ve said that they should easily win or that they would have to actively participate in throwing the game, they’ve managed to find a way to lose. So, in an effort to get us the number one overall pick in the 2014 draft; for a shot at a potential franchise quarterback, I’m picking the Texans to win.
And if we actually do win, then hey… there’s always the free slushie.
