The Rockets have had an excellent showing in preseason play against teams such as the Indiana Pacers, Orlando Magic, San Antonio Spurs and Memphis Grizzlies. Considering the Bobcats history and their lack of activity in the off season to improve, I doubt they’ll put up much of a showing tonight. About the only thing they’ve done to improve their team is sign Al Jefferson and he’s already sidelined with an ankle injury making his status for tonight’s opener questionable. The Bobcats went 21-61 last year and they can thank the lock-out shortened season that it wasn’t worse than that.
I think the Rockets will easily dispatch the Bobcats despite the fact that they’re still trying to figure out their identity as a team and experimenting with their roster spots. If ever there was a team you could feel comfortable experimenting with your lineup against, it’s Charlotte. Plus, it will be a nice little boost to their confidence before heading into the game 2 matchup with the Dallas Mavericks.
