Biggest Texans Disappointments Through 4 Games

A 2-2 record has Texans fans upset. There have been some surprises this season, but also several disappointments. This list (in no particular order) isn’t for the worst Texans players but rather the players that have underperformed my own expectations through the first four games of the season.

  • Greg Jones – The fullback has been missing several blocks and hasn’t shown much chemistry with Arian Foster. It takes a while for a running back and fullback to be on the same page so I do expect him off this list at the halfway mark, but for now he takes a spot on my disappointment list.
  • Bryan Braman – “Special Teams Ace.” That’s his title and he’s been far from it through the first quarter of the season. After a dominant 2012 campaign, Braman has just one tackle and about 10 slips and whiffs (unofficial) on the season. Braman is a poor OLB so he is strictly on this team due to his special team’s play. Just like Trindon Holliday last year (mistake), Braman may be on the outs if his special teams play doesn’t improve.
  • Inconsistency – The Texans have yet to play a consistent game of football. Week 1 the first half was terrible, 2nd half great. Week 2 saw inconsistencies from drive-to-drive. Week 3 and week 4 the Texans dominated the first half but played terribly in the second half. The Texans defense has also been great but also inconsistent. So many 3-and-outs yet they’ve given up several 80+ scoring drives. Hopefully the Texans can start playing some consistent football in the near future.
